Culture and society have a relationship based on reciprocal influences, especially as the latter rerpesents a key to true literature, which manifests itself through language. Sapir

maintains that language is mainly a cultural and a social product.

In order to exemplify this statement, we are trying a short insight into the less studied world of the chestnut, regarding the terminology it imposes in the Lugianesse area, a historical region which is placed in between Liguria and Toscana.
